| Writing longer postsAs you may have noticed we have a 200 word minimum on Posts in this pack. This guide is designed to help improve post length for new or more advanced members. The Basics - Quote :
- The wolf walked into the field to do some hunting. After spotting a deer he began to stalk
This post is very simple, and in no way meets the 200 word min. 5 Ws What, When, Where, Who, Why. By referring to each of these in a post we can make it considerably longer What is the wolf doing? We already have that in the basics; we know the wolf is going hunting and is stalking; however we can expand this by saying how the actions were performed. - Quote :
- The wolf walked briskly into the field to do some hunting. After spotting a deer he lowered his frame so that the fur on his stomach skimmed against the terrain, taking small silent steps he began to stalk
When? By adding detail about the time we have much more we can describe. WE can also add a little about the current weather as well - Quote :
- The wolf walked briskly into the field to do some hunting, the sun was still rising over the horizon and cast various light shades of yellow and pink into the cyan blue sky, that was clear albeit for a few clouds what drifted by overhead. After spotting a deer he lowered his frame so that the fur on his stomach skimmed against the terrain, taking small silent steps he began to stalk. Moving downwind from the prey so that his scent would remain undetectable
Where? Describe the scenery around you and the scenery from where you’ve been journeying from - Quote :
- The wolf left the cover of the woods where he had remained hidden in the shadows and walked briskly into the field of towering, lush grass to do some hunting, the sun was still rising over the horizon and cast various light shades of yellow and pink into the cyan blue sky, that was clear albeit for a few clouds what drifted by overhead. After spotting a deer grazing to the right of the herd, distanced from the main group he lowered his frame so that the fur on his stomach skimmed against the terrain, taking small silent steps he began to stalk. Moving downwind from the prey so that his scent would remain undetectable, he began to move towards the right of the animal
Who? This is where you can describe your wolf and any other animals in more detail - Quote :
- The ebon pelted wolf left the cover of the woods where he had remained hidden in the shadows and walked briskly into the field of towering, lush grass to do some hunting, the sun was still rising over the horizon and cast various light shades of yellow and pink into the cyan blue sky, that was clear albeit for a few clouds what drifted by overhead. After spotting an elderly, and weaker deer grazing to the right of the herd, distanced from the main group of healthier prey the lupe lowered his agile frame so that the charcoal hued fur on his skinny stomach skimmed against the terrain, taking small silent steps on well balanced limbs he began to stalk. Moving downwind from the prey so that his scent would remain undetectable, the hunter began to move towards the right of the animal
Why? Why is your wolf doing the actions? - Quote :
- The ebon pelted wolf left the cover of the woods where he had remained hidden in the shadows and walked briskly into the field of towering, lush grass to do some hunting, The pack hadn’t eaten for some time now and as the only hunter it was the brutes time to shine. The sun was still rising over the horizon and cast various light shades of yellow and pink into the cyan blue sky, that was clear albeit for a few clouds what drifted by overhead. After spotting an elderly, and weaker deer grazing to the right of the herd, distanced from the main group of healthier prey the lupe lowered his agile frame so that the charcoal hued fur on his skinny stomach skimmed against the terrain, taking small silent steps on well balanced limbs he began to stalk, making him invisible to the unsuspecting deer. Moving downwind from the prey so that his scent would remain undetectable, the hunter began to move towards the right of the animal so that he would be able to catch it by surprise and trigger a chase
CommunicationCommunication is a vital way to let us know what your wolf is thinking, but it doesn’t have to stop with plain speech. Why not add some facial expressions to your post? - Quote :

Internal speechAdding some of your wolves thought to your postnot only makes it longer but also allows us to see what your wolf is really thinking - Quote :

SensesWhat can your wolf, see, hear, smell, feel, and taste - Quote :
- The ebon pelted wolf left the cover of the woods where he had remained hidden in the shadows, the scents of pine cones and leafs slowing dying away in the open space as he alked briskly into the field of towering, lush grass to do some hunting, The pack hadn’t eaten for some time now and as the only hunter it was the brutes time to shine. The sun was still rising over the horizon and cast various light shades of yellow and pink into the cyan blue sky, that was clear albeit for a few clouds what drifted by overhead. The smell of spring was in the air and the aroma of flowers and fresh growth filled the atmosphere. ‘That one’ he thought to himself after picking out an elderly and weaker deer grazing to the right of the herd, distanced from the main group of healthier prey who’s scent reached him first, the lupe lowered his agile frame so that the charcoal hued fur on his skinny stomach skimmed against the terrain, ”steady now” he reminded himself taking small silent steps on well balanced limbs he began to stalk to the right of the animal so that he would be able to catch it by surprise and trigger a chase. Making him invisible to the unsuspecting deer he remained completely silent so that the only noises where the birds swooping over head and the breathing of deer A smile all the time edging across his mawl as he anticipated the upcoming chase that he loved so much “Nearly ready,” he thought “They pack will be so proud if I bring down an adult deer all by myself”
And that's that, the above quote is over 2oo words making it an acceptable post | |
